Phil Ivey Biography
Phil Ivey is perhaps the greatest poker player of our time. Ivey was born on the 1st of February 1976. Ivey grew up in New Jersey raised by him mum and dad who worked normal 9 to 5 jobs. Ivey wanted more to life than just slaving away in a normal 9 to 5 job.
He soon realised that he was a decent young poker player as he made regular trips to Atlantic City to practice while flipping burgers in MacDonald’s as a part time job as well. Online poker players may recognize him from his final table appearance at the 2009 World Series of Poker where he managed to finish in 7th place netting himself over 1 million dollars in prize money. In Phil Ivey’s young poker playing years Ivey hit it big taking down 4 World Series of Poker bracelets in just two 2 years netting prizes worth over $550,000.
This was still not enough and Ivey began his campaign to be the richest/best poker player in the world. After turning to play cash games professionally Ivey found great success and can now be found participating in the $4000/$8000 mixed cash games at the world famous Bellagio.

The Corporation is a number of poker professionals who pooled their money to play the billionaire Andy Beal in huge stakes games. Phil Ivey won 16 million dollars off Beal in 3 days for the Corporation playing holdem stakes of a massive 25/50k.
Ivey has also found internet poker success with high stakes DB reporting his profits in 2007 on Full Tilt Poker alone being around 2 million dollars and with 2009 profits reported as 7.34 million dollars.
